Bed bug Control The Greater Richmond VA has a serious Bed Bug problem. Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) has a 12 - page PDF entitled “BED BUGS How to Protect Yourself and Your Home.” You can download it https://www.pubs.ext.vt.edu/ENTO/ENTO-31/ENTO-31.html. Also, the VCE recommend treatment be done by a professional pest control company, 3 treatments 2 weeks apart. H. L. Cooper Pest Control follow this 3 Chemical Treatment Protocol, we do not do use heat treatment. Bed bug treatments can cost a lot depending on severity. The 3 treatments must be done as scheduled. You can pay for each treatment separately, but do not start the protocol unless you can pay for all 3 treatments on time. What about Do-it-Yourself? If you do not have experience or know little to nothing about bed bugs, this is something you likely would not have success at. What If I Cannot Afford Professional Help? A. Buy a small portable Shop Vacuum Cleaner. B. Put a knee-high stocking between the hose (in hose) and nozzle. C. Vacuum mattresses, box springs, sofa, chairs, bed frame and any place where you see evidence of bed bugs. Remove and tie your stocking when done before placing in trash, do not leave in vacuum cleaner. If you have bought some bed bug spray, use it on the stocking. D. Buy bed bug spray and use as directed.

Outdoor Insect Population Control Around Your House (Perimeter Barrier Treatment) The best way to control insects inside your home is to control them outside your house. Many insects that invade our living space live and breed in our yard. Larger insects that we normally see, eats smaller insects we do not see. Insects need food, water, and shelter to survive. Removing any of the three disrupts population growth. Barrier Treatments liquids, granules, or both can eliminate insects which invade our homes. Some Barrier Treatments are target at smaller insects which are a food source for larger insects. Ants , typically lives underground and go foraging for food in our homes. Some ants will make their home in our home inside walls and stacks of newspapers, or magazines. Some ants feed on both large and small insects outside in addition to foraging in our house for food. American cockroach lives outdoors but will invade our home. This cockroach likes the mulch we keep in our flower beds, around shrubs, and trees. American cockroach loves warm moist places like water-meters, drains and sewers. They can fly and attracted to night lights on our properties from nearby trees in which they also live. BAYER has a product call “Barricor SP,” that’s label for American cockroach plus Ants except Pharaoh Ants. Barricor SP is label application for Outdoor/Perimeter Pests. Call H. L. Cooper Pest Control (804) 652-1777 office or (804) 310-6744 mobile about Perimeter Barrier Treatment. This is a Quarterly Preventive Maintenance Service Program or Plan.
Cold Weather and Rodents (Mice & Rats)
By Harry L Cooper, Owner H. L. Cooper Pest Control November 25, 2020
Cold Weather and Rodents (Mice & Rats) Rats and mice particularly the house mouse have learned to live with us very well. They adapt to our habits so they can avoid us. For instance, you will rarely see newborn pups, yet they are born in our closets and sofas in addition to holes in walls. They build their nest from paper and other soft materials easily gotten from us. They eat many of the same foods we eat and like the same environment we like. Our homes and buildings provide access from the utilities hook up where holes are not properly sealed. Inviting odors, warm, and cold air comes out of structures beckoning them. Rats and mice can cause serious damage to your home or business. They can gnaw through wires and may cause fires. They contaminate foods and surfaces. Rats and mice are not simply just a nuisance, they pose a serious health threat by transmitting diseases. They are prolific breeders, so action should be taken at the first sighting of a single mouse or rat. In the United States, there are three of particular concern (House Mouse, Norway Rat and Roof Rat). These rodents belonging to the Muridae family and cause health and economic concerns. Need help with mice or rats call H. L. Cooper Pest Control Today (804) 652-1777 or (804) 310-6744 Mobile. Or visit https://www.hlcooperpestcontrol.com
