Bed bugs are more than just a nuisance. They are an extraordinarily stubborn type of infestation that can require multiple treatments to remove. Bud bugs are flat, reddish brown insects that are swollen and reddish after a meal of blood. Bed bugs can survive for up to a year without eating, which is why they are so difficult to get rid of. Infestations tend to be much more extensive than they seem on the surface.

   Let's be clear, having a dirty living space do not cause or attract bed bugs. Bed bugs eat blood only and need a moist environment. Having a cluttered room makes it harder to treat for bed bugs. Some pest professional like customers to prepare for treatment by bagging items to be washed and dried. H. L. Cooper Pest Control do not want or require preparation. First, moving items with bed bug before treatment tends to spread them. Many home dryers don't reach higher enough temperatures to kill bed bugs. Inspection, vacuuming, chemical treatment is our method in that order. Mattress and box spring in covers can be used, but only after completing the "Bed bug Protocol."

3 Chemical Treatment Protocol:

  Our Bed bug Protocol consist of the initial clean-out plus two follow -up treatment (2) weeks apart. In severe infestations more follow-up treatments is needed. Again, let's be clear about bed covers...they can't protect you from bed bugs in bed frame, walls, chairs or other furniture. Secondly, there is no treatment that you can do to prevent bed bugs. We provide a booklet on things you can do and watch out for in not picking up bed bugs. But, in most case you won't know where, when, who or how you got bed bugs. This treatment consist of the (Initial Clean-out) plus 2 (Follow-up treatments) 2 weeks apart. No preparation is necessary. You will have items that need to wash and dried placed in sealed plastic bags because chemicals  can not be applied to linen.
